James Pants - Welcome

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Stones Throw kept on promising the James Pants “Welcome” album but we now hear its dropping in May (for real) In the meantime you can check this from his latesrt 12″ out now.

BUSY P (DAFT PUNK MANAGER, ED BANGER REC. FOUNDER): “Next big thing to watch for in 2008”
DAZED & CONFUSED: “The 16 tracks on Welcome jump all over the place, taking in everything from electro to
80s soul, new wave and 60s psych, but all of them share the same lo-fi punk aesthetic and are adorned with
Pants’ unique quirky shouting and falsetto vocals”

Kingdom

This NYC geezer is wicked. Ive been listening to ‘Jump Up Step Back’ for a while and loving its camp rap so I was well chuffed to discover that he was in London. His set at Night Slugs (Faggatronix’s bassline night) was well lively as is his new mixtape with tracks from KW Griff, Dexplicit, Scottie B etc (get it from his myspace) He’s djing at I <3 NIYI on Tuesday alongside Afrikan Boy, should be a colourful affair. He put these up on zshare for Fly:

Rumble in Brixton (Saturday)

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Its going to be a rowdy Brixton weekend… the weathers sposed to be nice on Saturday so personally I’m going to hit the park then the pub then rave at SOUNDTAPE KILLIN till the sun comes up… It’s bought to you by Raf Daddy and Toddla T, the digi-dancehall deejay currently being championed by the likes of Sinden, Roots Manuva and the Mad Decent massive. If you haven’t allready, get his mixtape: Ghettoblaster #1 (downloadable from his MySpace). Its wicked.

Cop the Nastee Boi remix of Toddla’s next single. Personally I prefer the original though this isnt bad. “SOME BWOY A GWAN SEH WE 4GOT WHERE COME FROM”

The fly Music love affair with Rustie continues with his remix series. I’s never heard of Hurricane Chris but this re-fix is pure fire in the clubs. On another note fly music’s Bryce is spinning with Rustie at the Daedleus album launch party on May 23rd at Corsica Studios.
